Simon Rekanovič, MD, Founder and CEO
The genesis of our Institute can be traced back to 2016. Motivated by a personal quest to help my gravely ill father and armed with a spirit of innovation, my friend Mitja Breznik, now our Chief Technology Officer and Development Manager, and I laid the cornerstone of Viverius - the Institute for the Development of Digital Health. This was during my time as a medical student.
Over the years of operation, a multitude of contributors have played a part in our journey, aiding in the development of diagnostic devices and a variety of services. Our primary focus, since the onset, has been pioneering and enhancing technological solutions and services aimed at digitalization within the healthcare sector.
Our overarching objective revolved around enhancing the quality of treatment and enriching the lives of individuals. This includes everyone, whether they are caring for their own health or the health of others. We're committed to leveraging technology to transform the health landscape and profoundly impact individual lives.
I firmly believe that modern solutions can improve healthcare and contribute to the health of individuals. When developing solutions, we always put the user first and constantly strive to facilitate the work of professional staff in healthcare and improve professional development.
Viverius professional courses appeared as a product of our work towards the end of my studies at the medical faculty, as Mitja and I, during my work abroad and with a team from all over Slovenia, led the work through online tools. The gained experience was then reshaped with a colleague, a young doctor Anej Skočir, into a new, simple form of professional education in the field of medicine.
I have always wanted professional education to be quality, accessible and above all concrete - useful in everyday practice. Knowledge that you really need when you need it. In recent years, at the Institute, we have devoted a lot of attention to preparing professional training for healthcare workers (Viverius +).
However, I constantly turn to the world of numbers and analyses in my work, which in turn also represents my hobby. Searching for patterns, opportunities for improvements in work processes and transparency of presented data or information are the main guidelines in our work.
I look forward to new challenges, sharing experiences, and potential collaborations. Connect with us, we might be able to find answers to the questions that arise in your work together.
